The East & West Gidgegannup Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade.

The East & West Gidgegannup Volunteer Bushfire Brigade has been in operation since the early 60s. They look after the larger rural properties and large tracts of bushland west of Stoneville and Reserve roads and northwards
to the Avon River.

Gidgegannup has 2 Volunteer Bushfire brigades (East and West), - part of the City of Swan fire fighting services.

The brigades work in tandem for all fires in the Gidge area. In total, they have ~100 active fire fighters, utilising 8 fire appliances. However, their area of responsibility includes approximately 250 square kilometres of area.

They also respond either singly or together to many fires outside the Gidge area.

The Leukaemia Foundation.

The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national charity dedicated to helping those with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and related blood disorders survive
and then live a better quality of life.

By raising money for the Leukaemia Foundation you are making a difference by giving families fighting blood cancer the emotional and practical support they need; as well as funding vital medical research that will help
more people beat their blood cancer.

Leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma are all types of blood cancer and they can develop in anyone,
of any age, at any time.

More than 13,000 Australians are expected to be diagnosed with a blood cancer or a related blood disorder this year. To put this in perspective, that is 35 people every day; or one person every 41 minutes across Australia. You may be surprised to know that blood cancer is the third most common cause of cancer death in Australia, claiming more lives than breast cancer or melanoma.

Every $80 raised allows us to give a regional WA family a home for 1 night in our brand new Innaloo apartments, which is absolutely FREE OF CHARGE for people living with a blood cancer and their family.
